The CGC Grading App Collectors Use Before They Pay
CGC has no instant grading app, so collectors use this instead: a CGC-style grade band on the familiar 0.5-10.0 scale from a single photo, plus the fee maths that says whether mailing the book in actually pays.
- GO / NO-GO / PRESS FIRST
- Grade band + the fee maths
- Expected dollar outcome
Why Collectors Use It as Their CGC App
The CGC scale and the CGC arithmetic, in something you can open before you commit the fee.
CGC-Standard Grades
Grades use the same 0.5-10.0 Sheldon scale and terminology as CGC — Near Mint, Very Fine, Gem Mint — so the band maps straight onto the comps you are already reading.
Trained on CGC Books
Our models are trained on thousands of CGC-graded comics, and report a grade band with a confidence level rather than a single number.
Answer Before You Mail
Nothing ships and nothing sits in a queue. You find out whether the submission is worth making while the book is still on your desk.
The Fee Maths, Done
Tier fee, handling, insured shipping both ways and the slabbed-versus-raw gap, totalled into one net figure and one break-even grade.
Pre-Screen for CGC
Use it to decide which books are worth an actual CGC submission, so you never waste a fee on a low grade.
Browser-Based App
No download. Runs on any phone or computer — the app-like CGC grading experience collectors keep searching for.
Built for the people who live in the long boxes.
Will this book pay for its own submission?
CGC is $27–45 a book plus handling and shipping both ways. Find out which of your comics clear that bar — and which ones never will — before the box goes out.
Price it, don't guess it.
A defensible comic grading report on every listing, and a straight answer on whether slabbing it first would net you more than selling it raw.
Raw or slabbed?
See both numbers side by side — what the book fetches raw today against what it fetches slabbed, minus the fee.
Route a whole collection.
Sort a long box by expected net return, then send only the books that clear their own break-even grade.
Skip the costly misfires.
Find out which books are NO-GO before the box goes out, not 45 days after it comes back.
Priced against one wasted submission.
Pay once, per decision. No subscription, and nothing to cancel — because deciding whether to slab a book is something you do a few times a year, not every month.

CGC Grading App FAQ
Does CGC have a grading app?
CGC does not offer an AI grading app — its service requires mailing your comics in and waiting weeks. ComicMintAI fills that gap: a browser-based tool that predicts CGC-style grade bands from a photo and works out whether the submission is worth making. It is independent and not affiliated with CGC.
How close are these grades to real CGC grades?
Close enough to decide with, which is the point — the model is trained on CGC-graded comics and returns a band, not a promise. It does not replace CGC encapsulation for resale certification; it tells you whether paying for that encapsulation is worth it.
What does it tell me that a grade alone would not?
Whether to send the book. A grade is only half the decision — the other half is the tier fee, the handling, the shipping both ways and the gap between what the copy fetches raw and what it fetches slabbed. You get that arithmetic and the verdict it produces.
Should I still use CGC?
For high-value books you plan to sell, CGC encapsulation adds certified market value. Use ComicMintAI first to identify which books are worth that cost, then submit only your best.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in your browser on any device, so it works like an app without any download.
